Joinery for a new Georgian style country house. New doors, door linings, architraves and skirting boards from the Atkey and Company Georgian range have been designed and fitted to a new build luxury property with some of the best views of the Somerset countryside .
This country house designed by Studio Mark Ruthven combines period style architecture using traditional natural materials, with more contemporary design features – notably a delightful glazed ‘outside’ room.
Atkey and Company were asked to create a family of architectural joinery designs to reflect the notional origins of the house as late Georgian along with its relative status as a rural farmhouse and manufactured the skirting, architraves, doors, door linings and other timber mouldings.
The interior and exterior door schedule included bespoke part glazed panelled doors using traditional glazing bars, bead and flush panel details including two and four panel interior doors, sliding doors, and part glazed double doors leading to an expansive courtyard.
Atkey’s doors, door linings, skirting and mouldings were provided primed and ready for top coat decoration in the elegant colour scheme chosen for this luxury property.
A fine example of a sympathetic new build designed to complement its idyllic country location.
