It’s always gratifying to be involved in award-winning schemes, so we are delighted that a recent project for which we created bespoke period joinery has just won the Residential House Over £1m category of the SBID International Design Awards.
Cause for a celebration? Judge for yourself: St Johns Wood Residence
The property in question dates from the 1840s and is in St. John’s Wood, London. Our client on the project was the interior designer, Shalini Misra, who wanted to achieve a very unique aesthetic: a mixture of bold interior design with the reinstatement of Victorian period detail. The house had previously been stripped of all its period features, and Shalini was particularly keen to reintroduce some British heritage and craftsmanship. We were of course delighted to help by advising on and reinstating bespoke period joinery throughout the property.

Atkey manufactured all the interior doors, architraves, and skirtings within the property. The door design can be found in our Victorian Collection, and offers a pleasingly elegant aesthetic that makes it a popular choice for many designers we work with, being suited to both contemporary and period interior designs.
